ROKAnol® L5A is a non-ionic surfactant belonging to the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols called INCI: Laureth-5. The product is part of a group of surfactants based on lauryl alcohol with C12-C16 carbon distribution. The commercial product contains over 99.9% of the active substance and solidifies at a temperature of approx. 15 ° C. It has an HLB parameter of about 10.
The product is a liquid with a maximum colour of 50 HU at 40°C. ROKAnol® L5A is slightly soluble in water, in which it forms cloudy solutions.
Due to its excellent detergency properties, ROKAnol® L5A is used in various types of preparations for washing, cleaning and laundering. Most often it is one of the constituents of a composition with other non-ionic, anionic or cationic surfactants. ROKAnol® L5A can be used in oxidizing, reducing and hard water environments. It is active in cold water, acid baths, neutral and diluted alkalis.
The product is also used in cosmetic formulations as a shampoo ingredient. In addition, ROKAnol® L5A is used in the pre-treatment of fibres as a component of the formulation that removes mineral oil stains from knitted and woven fabrics resulting from industrial knitting and weaving processes. Furthermore, the product can be a constituent of the bleaching composition for raw knitted fabrics and cotton fabrics. It is also applied in the final stage of the dyeing process of textile fabrics as one of the ingredients removing excess dyes from the bath.
