ROKAnol IT7P® is a product designed for specialist cleaning of gas turbines. It belongs to the non-ionic surfactants of the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: Isotrideceth-7). The product belongs to the ROKAnol® IT series which contains surfactants based on isotridecyl alcohol (iso-C13).
At 50°C, the product is in the form of a clear or slightly turbid liquid with a light colour (max. 100 HU). It solidifies at a temperature of approximately 2 °C. The commercial product contains about 100% active substance. In comparison to other ROKAnol products of the IT series, ROKAnol® IT7P has a low content of ions Na⁺ and K⁺, thus it is not corrosive to metal surfaces, even at very high temperatures (the so-called high-temperature corrosion). The product forms cloudy solutions in water.
In cleaning formulas for gas turbines it is used together with high boiling point solvents, e.g. BDG. The advantage of the product is its low foaming properties and effective contact angle reduction on metal surfaces. In combination with a solvent it has a high ability to degrease the surface and remove burnt stains. Formulations for cleaning turbines containing ROKAnol® IT7P can be used both in combined heat and power plants and in aviation.
