ROKAnol® NL8P4 belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the group of alkoxylated fatty alcohols. The product belongs to the group of low-foaming surfactants. High surface activity allows it to be used mainly in detergents and cleaning agents, where reduced foaming is required.
The commercial product contains about 100% of the active substance. Takes the form of a clear or turbid liquid, solidifying at about -10°C. At room temperature, its colour is up to 200 Hazen-scale. The product exhibits hydrophilic properties, which makes it highly soluble in water and low aliphatic alcohols. It has a cloud point within the temperature range of 38 ÷ 48°C in aqueous solution. It can be successfully used in the environment of oxidizing agents, reducing agents and hard water. Due to its ionic nature, the product can be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliaries and in formulations with anionic as well as cationic surfactants.
The use of ROKAnol® NL8P4 ensures optimal wetting of the cleaned surface, and due to the very high detergency properties, also the high quality of removing dirt from the surface of both the fabric / knitwear and the hard surface. These features are combined with very low foam formation and high stability in formulations. The product has increased resistance to alkali - up to 40gNaOH / l. Due to such numerous advantages, the product works well as a component of alkaline as well as acidic detergents for professional washing and industrial and institutional cleaning.
In professional washing liquids, ROKAnol® NL8P4 most often blends with other non-ionic surfactants, BDG and alkalis. Such compositions may also contain anionic surfactants, e.g. ABSNa. In addition, ROKAnol® NL8P4 has been used in pre-treatment of fibres. It can be recommended for removing mineral oil stains from fabric / knitwear that result from industrial knitting and weaving processes.
The product, due to the excellent wetting properties of cotton fabric, can be used as an ingredient in the bleach composition of raw knitted and cotton fabrics. Its presence in the formulation improves bleaching efficiency, which improves dye capillarity in dyeing processes. In addition, the product meets the safety standards for textiles set by the world's leading textile institutes, such as the Oeko-Tex Standard Association or the ZDHC Program.
Due to its properties, the product can also be used in plant protection products and adjuvants, where lowering the contact angle has a decisive impact on increasing the effectiveness of the active substance of the pesticide. Very good wetting properties allow the product to be used also as a low-foaming wetting agent in the production of paints.
ROKAnol® NL8P4 is a very easily biodegradable product, compliant with the biodegradability criteria set out in Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents.
