The nonionic surfactant used as a semi-finished product of receiving textile preparation. It belongs to the group of castor oil ethoxylates available under the name ROKAcet R. It takes a solid form at room temperature. The colour of the product at 60°C on the Gardner scale is max. 5, the cloud point in brine solution (NaCl solution 100 g/L) is in the range of (65 -70)°C. The product is also characterised by very good solubility in water and resistance to acidic, alkaline and hard water environments. The freezing point is approximately 43°C. It has a high HLB parameter of about 18.5.
ROKAcet R250 is used, for example, as a semi-finished product for textile preparations. The product is an excellent emulsifier and dispersant. Therefore, it has found application in the textile industry as an emulsifier for oils, fats and waxes; it can also be used as an antistatic agent for finishing fibres. Due to its high HLB value it has emulsifying and solubilising properties; it is suitable for obtaining oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions or as a co-emulsifier in mixed surfactant systems.
ROKAcet R250 is also suitable as a pigment and clay dispersant, softener and wetting agent in the paint, textile and leather industries. The product is not classified as hazardous.
