ROKAfenol N8P14 is a non-ionic surfactant belonging to the group of alkoxylated nonylphenols. It has a form of opalescent, cloudy or clear, oily liquid of straw or light yellow colour. The commercial product contains about 100% active substance and solidifies at temperatures below -20°C.
The product exhibits good solubility in water up to 19 °C. After heating, the solution becomes turbid. The reason for this is its low cloud point - in the temperature range of 19-22°C.
ROKAfenol N8P14 is used as a component of washing and cleaning agents and laundry detergents. Being a great emulsifier and dispersant, it improves the detergency properties. In addition, it is characterized by low foaming capacity. In some formulations it is used as a defoamer. The product may be used in a mixture with other non-ionic surfactants and together with anionic and cationic agents.
ROKAfenol N8P14 is active in cold water as well as in hard water, in acidic, neutral and alkaline baths. It has excellent wetting and detergency properties, which are effective even at high concentrations of electrolytes and in the environment of oxidizing and reducing agents. Its wettability is at a higher level than ROKAfenol N8 and ROKAfenol N8P7. This product is mainly used as an additive to help wet the fibre in dyeing processes, especially when padding in continuous dyeing processes, e.g. cotton dyeing with indigo.
It is effective in mixtures with mineral acids and corrosion inhibitors used for cleaning, degreasing and etching of metal products in the metallurgical industry. In addition, it has a wetting effect and speeds up the cleaning process.
