ROKAnol T12 belongs to the group of non-ionic fatty alcohol ethoxylate surfactants, INCI name: Ceteareth-12. The product is based on the high molecular weight alcohol of natural origin. It is produced in the form of a soft white wax.
ROKAnol T12 has excellent emulsifying and dispersing properties. The hydrophilic-lipophilic balance value (HLB) of the product is 13.5, which puts it in the range of hydrophilic emulsifiers. The product is highly soluble in water. In order to speed up the process of dissolving the product in water, it is recommended to use hot water.
The surfactant has a wide range of applications, mainly as an oil-in-water emulsifier. The product can be used in cosmetic emulsions as well as for industrial applications, including soluble oils, textiles, anti-foam emulsions or hydraulic fluids. The product has the ability to emulsify mineral oils and mineral spirits, kerosene, xylene, vegetable and animal fats.
The product is usually used together with emulsifiers with lower HLB values (e.g. with ROKAnol T6), which improves the stability of the emulsions created. ROKAnol T12 is also resistant to hard water and electrolytes while being sensitive to pH changes.
The product is susceptible to aerobic biodegradation.
