Rokopol® GS364 is a low-reactive polyether sucrose polyol that is used in the production of rigid and semi-rigid polyurethane (PUR) foam in reaction with isocyanate. It exists in the form of a homogeneous, clear liquid, from yellow to dark brown. It contains antioxidants (excluding BHT). It is characterised by average viscosity within the range of ca. 2000 - 4000mPas at temp. 25°C with relatively high functionality f~4,5.
Rokopol® GS364 is dedicated to manufacture PUR polyurethane systems with moderately low viscosity, low hydroxyl value, which ensures good fluidity during the foaming process of hard foam (PUR). It allows obtaining better mechanical properties as compared to typical sucrose polyethers. Ensured long times of gelation of PUR foam systems, therefore it is used for block systems of hard PUR foam. In combination with other polyols and additives it is used in order to modify properties of the PUR system, in particular: viscosity, reactiveness, gelation, degree of cross-linking. It influences also properties of the final rigid foam such as: adhesion to various substances, hardness, abrasion, content of closed cells (insulation), etc.
Main advantages of application of Rokopol® GS364:
ensures fluidity during the foaming process of hard foam,
ensures better mechanical properties of the manufactured foam than foam obtained with sorbitol polyol,
owing to compatibility with other polyols and additives it enables modification of the PUR system’s properties,
ensures long gelation times of the PUR foam.
Most popular applications of Rokopol® GS364:
closed-cell foams used for thermal insulation in the refrigeration sector (in particular refrigerators and freezers),
closed-cell foams used for thermal insulation for higher temperatures (boilers, flow systems, pre-insulated pipes),
PCC Rokita SA is one of the largest chemical companies in Poland as well as Central and Eastern Europe. Its activity includes the production of chloroalkali, polyether polyols, polyalkylene glycols and phosphorus derivatives.
