ROKAnol® O3 belongs to non-ionic surfactants from the group of ethoxylated fatty alcohols (INCI name: Oleth-3) of a moderately lipophilic character. It is produced in the form of a clear or turbid, straw to pale yellow liquid. The product is based on natural raw materials, which makes ROKAnol O3 highly biodegradable. Another advantage is the low content of free ethylene oxide and 1,4-dioxane.
The hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of the product is 7.1, thanks to which ROKAnol® O3 is miscible with some base oils, e.g. it is dissolved in mineral base oils and rapeseed oil methyl esters. The product is incompatible with rapeseed oil and is also poorly soluble in water.
Being a component of emulsifying packages, ROKAnol® O3 enables the formation of W / O (water in oil) and O / W emulsions, the nature of the emulsion depending on the qualitative and quantitative composition of the entire package.
The emulsifying properties allow the product to be used in plant protection products, cutting fluids and preparations for flotation of non-ferrous ores. Due to its chemical structure, the product is gentle in relation to popular construction materials. It shows good dispersing properties. The surfactant can be successfully applied in an oxidizing and reducing environment as well as in the presence of hard water.
ROKAnol® O3 acts as a component of cosmetic emulsions (creams, milks, lotions), washing agents in household chemicals and a dispersant and softener in washing compositions. ROKAnol® O3 can be used as a component of hair coloring and styling agents, as well as an emulsifier or dispersant for dyes. The product can be a component of compositions used to polish various surfaces, such as furniture care sprays or polishing pastes for the automotive sector.
