The product is in the form of a colourless or yellow liquid with a characteristic odour. It is miscible with water in any proportion. Roksol A87 is used to soak and degrease leather at any stage of the leather tanning process.

It is suitable for baths in wet processes, tanning and re-tanning, at every stage of processing of calf, cattle, pig, sheep, goat, horse, ostrich and fur skins. The product has excellent wetting properties, it facilitates and accelerates skins soaking process and other tanning processes. Roksol A87 lowers the fat content (in wet-blue phase) of heavily oily skins such as pig, sheep and fur skins.
Roksol A87 does not have a significant effect on the hydrophobicity of leather during processing. The product is easily biodegradable.
