ROKAfenol N4 is a non-ionic surfactant that belongs to ethoxylated nonylphenols, INCI name: Nonoxynol-4. It is an coloured oily liquid(70 max., Pt/Co scale) Its cloud point for the butyl diglycol/water solution is within the temperature range 31-36°C. The freezing point is at 0°C, and the active substance content is about 100%. The product is poorly soluble in water and forms emulsions in it.
ROKAfenol N4 properties enhance the cleaning and degreasing effect of detergent compositions and solvent emulsions components. As it is a low-foaming agent, it stabilizes emulsion and foam. It has very good washing properties, and the ability to disperse oils and organic solvents. It may be used in a mixture with other non-ionic auxiliary agents, and together with anionic and cationic agents used in any ratios.
ROKAfenol N4 is resistant to high temperatures and high electrolyte levels. Owing to this, it can be used in difficult conditions, e.g. when washing wool and boiling cotton, or as a lubricant component for ingots and matrices for the metal industry. The ability to prevent the precipitation of calcium salts makes ROKAfenol N4 an excellent detergent and emulsifier for the textile, leather, and pulp and paper industries.
ROKAfenol N4 is particularly useful as a cleaning, stain removing and degreasing additive in the pulp and paper industry, mainly for removing ink from recyclable materials. It is an excellent emulsifier of mineral oils, silicones, corn oil, diesel oils, glycols, butyl acetate, carbon tetrachloride, isopropanol, toluene and other solvents. It is used for the production of W/O (water in oil) low-foaming cleaning/degreasing emulsions with kerosene and aliphatic hydrocarbons for the metal industry.
