SULFOBURSZTYNAN N5 is an anionic surfactant (INCI name: Disodium Nonoxynol-5 Sulfosuccinate) The product is obtained by direct sulfonation of ethoxylated nonylphenol. The product is a light yellow to yellow liquid, highly soluble in water and in organic solvents such as ethanol and isopropanol.
The product has emulsifying, wetting and dispersing properties. Thanks to its washing and foam-forming properties, it can be used as a component of liquid detergents, household chemicals or shampoos for washing carpets.
Due to its good emulsifying properties, SULFOBURSZTYNIAN N5 is suitable for use in the emulsion polymerization process, in the production of acrylic dispersions, styrene acrylic dispersions, vinyl acetate homo- and copolymers, including VAE (vinyl acetate - ethylene) dispersions.
The product has excellent compatibility with bivalent, trivalent and quaternary ammonium cations. Moreover, at low concentrations the product has stabilizing and dispersing properties in various water-based formulations. The product's structure ensures good electrolytic stability.
SULFOBURSZTYNIAN N5 is biodegradable and safe for the aquatic environment.
