Gluten is a protein belonging to prolamines found in the endosperm of cereal grains such as wheat, barley and rye. Therefore, we most often find it in various food products made of cereal flour (pasta, bread). Some cosmetics (creams, body lotions) also contain gluten. Gluten is well tolerated by most people, but in part of the population it causes severe allergic reactions. Due to this, more and more attention is paid to the content of gluten in products that come into direct contact with people. The pictogram indicates that the product does not contain gluten and is safe for people who are allergic to this ingredient. People prone to allergic reactions in contact with gluten can therefore safely use products marked with this sign.
