Dodecylphenols belong to the group of non-ionic surfactants. These are ethoxylated compounds – phenol derivatives having a dodecyl aliphatic chain (containing twelve atoms of carbon) with added alkoxy groups.
Their main features are very good emulsification and dispersion with simultaneous high resistance to temperature and environment. For this reason, dodecylphenol is a frequently chosen ingredient in the textile processing process, as well as in tanning. It is also an important substance in the metallurgical and paper industries.
