Polyester polyols are a group of compounds derived from dicarboxylic acids and polyhydroxy alcohols, which terminate in hydroxyl groups.
They are produced by means of polycondensation of an carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid anhydride with glycols. They are usually found in the form of solids with a waxy consistency or liquids characterised by high viscosity. Within this category, aromatic and aliphatic polyester polyols can be distinguished, among others. The former most commonly find use in the production of rigid foams. The aliphatic polyol group, on the other hand, is frequently used in CASE applications, and as additives to flexible foams.
The PCC Group offers a wide range of polyester polyols, including such prominent product lines as Rokester and SyncoPol.
