Additives for ceramics

The term ceramics refers to inorganic and non-metallic materials and products made in very high-temperature heat treatment processes. Such methods include roasting and sintering.

Various types of raw materials are used for producing ceramics. These include clay, feldspar, quartz, carbides, sulfides, kaolinite, and many others. To achieve the desired properties, various additives are also used.

The range of ceramic additives offered by the PCC Group includes the popular microsilica (silica fume). It is an excellent choice for producing ceramics and refractories, but it finds many other uses as well. Additionally, the microsilica on offer is produced in a cutting edge PCC BakkiSilicon hf. production plant, where 100% of the energy used comes from geothermal sources.
