Anti-fogging agents are preparations that prevent the formation of water vapour. They also have the ability to repel water molecules.
These preparations are also known as anti-mist preparations. They reduce the condensation of water on the surface in the form of small droplets similar to mist. This effect can be achieved by reducing the surface tension, which is achieved by using surfactants or by creating a hydrophilic layer.
Anti-fogging preparations are used on transparent glass and plastic optical surfaces, such as mirrors, lenses, glasses and goggles. They are also used in the plastics, food and packaging industries where they provide transparency.
