These additives, used in small quantities, are mainly used in the tanning industry to make colour of the leather uniform after it is subjected to discolouration processes. An example of such a treatment is chromium tanning.
Equalizers are often characterized by additional features, such as dispersing properties, and the ones supporting dye diffusion into the fibre. Moreover, equalizers are used in the textile and construction industries, as well as in the paint and varnish industry.
