Excellent foaming properties are identified with high product quality. Therefore an essential ingredient of washing formulations are foam stabilisation products. These include a group of different surface active agents (surfactants). They ensure that selected properties responsible for foaming are maintained.
Foam stabilisers are used in all kinds of washing formulations, such as cosmetic preparations, e.g. soaps, shampoos, industrial cleaning agents, detergents, and many others.
For cosmetic preparations, prime products among amphoteric surfactants are betaines, which also provide mitigation of the irritating nature of other ingredients of the formulation.
