Hardening is a process that helps in the spatial cross-linking of polymers. The so-called hardeners are often used to accelerate and improve that process. One of these substances is phenol, which is also offered by PCC Group.

Such substances must be properly suited to the hardened materials. This way, we ensure not only efficient activating effect, accelerated hardening, or appropriate stability of the material, etc., but also prevent discolouration and stains in the final product. We should also pay attention to the method of hardening, as other processes can be used depending on the final product, for example the chemical hardening of rubber, known as ‘vulcanisation’.

Hardeners are applied, among others, in the manufacturing of epoxy coatings, paints and varnishes, in the plastics and gum industries, and in the production of rubber.
