Additives to galvanic processes are a group of functional substances used during galvanization, playing various roles in the process.
Galvanization is a process of depositing metal on the surface of another object as a result of the current flowing between individual electrodes. The effects of galvanic processes are evenly applied layers of metal on surfaces made of other metals. In galvanization processes various types of additives (supporting substances) are used more and more often. They perform stabilizing, wetting, dispersing or solubilizing functions. Moreover, depending on the desired effect, they may increase or decrease the amount of foam produced in the process. These additives are applied in small quantities to galvanic baths in the metallurgical industry.
