Oxygen scavengers are special preparations for removing oxygen from the system.
These substances are well soluble in water and can therefore be used in high-pressure heating systems or water circuits. In steam installations, the corrosion problem caused by the presence of oxygen is a serious hazard. With oxygen scavengers that eliminate residual oxygen from the system, rusting and destruction of the system can be prevented.
Deoxidation agents act by capturing oxygen molecules. In places where corrosion has occurred, these substances produce a passivation layer to prevent the spread of rust. In addition, they have anti-sedimentation properties – they prevent the precipitation of sediments in the tanks and pipes of the installation, as well as dissolve and remove impurities.
These specialist products are mainly used in the energy industry in water and steam circuits.
