Block foams, or more precisely slabs made of block foams, are created by cutting large blocks of rigid foam into slabs with specific thickness values.
They show excellent insulating properties (thermal conduction coefficient: ʎ = 0.019 – 0.026 W/mK). Owing to their production technology and the raw materials used, these foams have self-extinguishing properties. Block foams are characterised by many closed cells, so they are resistant not only to mechanical damage, but also to acidic and basic solutions. Block foams are easy to use together with other building materials (such as concrete, stone, plaster, cement, etc.). Thanks to their design and insulating properties, it is not necessary to perform any additional waterproof systems.
Block foams are used for insulation of residential and industrial buildings, flat and sloped roofs, partition walls erected in buildings for sound insulation, refrigerated trucks and cold stores, and as the core component in the production of “sandwich” panels.
