Wetting agents are preparations which reduce surface tension and facilitate the dispersion of liquids on surfaces of various materials.
Wetting agents are surfactants of both non-ionic and ionic structure. The molecules of these compounds are composed of a hydrocarbon chain with low affinity to water and a hydrophilic head. They form micelles, thanks to which they allow for easy distribution of liquids and perfect moisturising of the surface. They also have the ability to remove air from solids.
Due to these properties, wetting preparations are used in many processes, especially in the textile industry, but also in agriculture, tanning, firefighting, paint and other industries.
