Where to buy components for polyurethane foam?

Polyurethanes – currently one of the most popular plastics on the market, are widely used in the form of polyurethane foams (PUR). Probably not everyone realises that they have become almost an indispensable material of the modern world. They surround us everywhere. Polyurethane accompany us during sleep, bath, work, in the car, at the gym, in the shop and at home. Therefore, the growing interest in the polyurethane foams and their components is not surprising.

Composition of polyurethane foam

The composition of the polyurethane foam depends on the desired properties and the intended use of the final product. However, it is always obtained from two reagents. The first of these are isocyanates – more precisely isomeric mixtures of toluene diisocyanate (TDI) or methyl diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI). The second component of the polyurethane foam are hydroxyl-terminated oligomers – polyesters or polyethers, called polyols.

The process of polyurethane foam formation is based on the addition polymerization reaction of two components – isocyanates with polyols, most often accompanied by an amine catalyst and water. The carbon dioxide that is released in the process is a foaming agent.

It is worth remembering that you should buy components for polyurethane foam only from proven sources, and preferably from companies specializing in their production. Only high-quality reagents included in the polyurethane foam will guarantee the desired features of the finished product.

Application of polyurethane foam

Polyurethane foams are divided into rigid, flexible and semi-rigid foams (spray foam). The multitude of their advantages causes that interest in these products is constantly growing and for this reason they are readily used both in industry and in everyday life.

In the construction industry, polyurethane materials are used because of their unique insulating properties. They are safe for health and easy to assemble. In addition, they are resistant to mould and fungi. Thanks to these features, a house insulated with polyurethane insulation is warm and safe. The automotive, furniture and upholstery industries use flexible polyurethane foams for the production of armchairs, sofas, mattresses and beds. The foam ensures softness and comfort for the user. In addition, it is durable and resistant to aging, so your favourite chair can stay with you for as long as you like. The textile and clothing industries also use polyurethane foams in the manufacture of leather-like materials and shoe soles. In this application, polyurethanes guarantee abrasion resistance, flexibility and durability. Due to their chemical inertness and non-toxicity, polyurethane foams are used in the medical industry. In addition, they are used by the aerospace and mining industries as well as manufacturers of packaging and toys for children.

The future of polyurethane foam

These materials can be found almost everywhere. The reasons for this are not only the exceptional functional properties of the foams, but also the surprising ease of modification of these materials. Thanks to this advantage and the use of various additives, the foam can become non-flammable, it can remember its previous shape or even resemble human skin.

Polyurethanes are often called products of the future. Due to the varied composition of polyurethane foam providing the desired properties, it can replace basic materials such as wood, rubber, metal or ceramics. One material instead of four? Or maybe instead of even more raw materials? Now it is becoming more and more real. Research on polyurethane foams enables obtaining specialist materials dedicated to specific industries. The tests make it possible to refine the formulas and check the effect of additives on the physicochemical properties of finished foams. In addition, the industry is currently moving towards faster, cheaper and more environmentally friendly manufacturing processes that will meet the market’s needs for this material.

Our offer includes over 150 polyurethane systems, each of which meets the most stringent standards and requirements, responding to the needs of various industries. The range of solutions we offer is distinguished by the use of natural and renewable raw materials. Polyurethane foams and their components have received a number of certificates and approvals granted by ITB, IMBiGS, GIG, DVN and other renowned certification centres. Thanks to this, as a leading manufacturer of polyurethane foams in Poland, we are able to offer you a wide range of both diverse and fully safe products.

What distinguishes Crossin and Ekoprodur polyurethane systems from PCC Prodex?

Like all leading polyurethane foam manufacturers in Poland, PCC Prodex constantly makes every effort to offer our customers the highest quality at affordable prices. Bearing in mind the requirements of various industries, we propose polyurethane foams and sponges, which are characterised by:

  • stable parameters and excellent adhesion to all surfaces,
  • above-average strength, allowing the use of polyurethane foams for the most specialised applications,
  • adaptation to produce PUR foam used in spray insulation systems,
  • optimal ingress protection, allowing elimination of thermal bridges and leaks,
  • homogeneous structure and long-lasting durability,
  • increased density (in the case of rigid foams) and strength,
  • open-cell or closed-cell structure with flammability class E.

Safe and environmentally friendly polyurethane systems

It is also worth noting the fully organic process of production of polyurethane foams, which is part of the policy of all entities and brands included in the PCC Group. In the case of chemicals, which undoubtedly include polyurethane foam, the manufacturer should make every effort to ensure an environmentally safe manufacturing process. The products offered by PCC Prodex do not use blowing agents that contribute to ozone depletion. At the same time, our insulating foams are recyclable and, thanks to their effectiveness and excellent thermal insulation, they allow a measurable increase in the energy efficiency of the building. The use of polyols from renewable raw materials is a very important element in the production of PUR foams.

Polyurethane foams – manufacturer

Aiming to provide our contractors and business partners with an optimal choice of products, we have both open-cell and closed-cell foam components in an extensive catalogue of over 150 components. Unlike semi-rigid isocyanate foam – closed-cell polyurethane foam from the Ekoprodur line is characterised by higher density and efficiency, thanks to which it is used in the execution of, among others, spray insulation of attics, ceilings, walls, roofs and foundations. On the other hand, open-cell polyurethane foams are products with lower density, which results in their better vapour permeability. Spray insulation of attics and walls made on their basis is considered to be much more “breathable” than closed-cell foams.

Where to buy the ingredients for polyurethane foam?

All entities interested in purchasing components for the production of polyurethane foams are welcome to submit inquiries. We are open to long-term cooperation as well as one-time deliveries and orders. As a manufacturer of polyurethane foams with many years of experience, enjoying the position of a market leader for years, we provide individually negotiated, attractive conditions of cooperation and the constant availability of the assortment. As for polyurethane foams, the price of our products – in relation to their quality – will certainly positively surprise the most demanding Customers.

PUR spray foam in barrels – which polyurethane system to choose?

The extensive range of EKOPRODUR products allows you to choose a polyurethane system that perfectly suits your needs. When drawing up our trade catalogue, we ensured that high-quality insulation materials could be produced, both as far as open-cell and closed-cell spray foams are concerned. PUR spray foam in barrels is a solution that works well both for insulation of residential buildings and for all types of industrial insulation.

For the production of semi-rigid polyurethane foam we recommend the selection of a two-component polyurethane system EKOPRODUR 0612B2. It is designed, among others, for the production of insulation lagging with increased thermal resistance, thermal insulation materials for pipelines, heating installations and hot water installations, as well as for the production of polyurethane foam with a partially open structure (Class E flammability).

For the production of a thermal insulation material with optimum thermal conductivity and constant parameters over time, we also recommend the two-component EKOPRODUR 2232W. The product has a wide range of applications. It is being used to insulate all types of industrial storage tanks, among others. PUR spray foam in barrels makes it possible to carry out effective insulation thanks to its high fluidity.

In turn, for the production of rigid foams with increased density and mechanical strength we recommend EKOPRODUR S0540. This two-component polyurethane system consists of a polyol part and an isocyanate part and is commonly used to produce closed-cell spray foam, which is excellent for spray insulation of floors, foundations, ceilings, roofs, as well as securing slides, pools and other structures.

In the case of such highly efficient thermal insulation systems as PUR foam in barrels, the barrel allows of up to 100 m2 (or even more) of foam to be produced from one set. The ultimate efficiency of the system depends on the thickness of the foam layer, its density and the weight of 1 m2 of insulation.
